Husqvarna are higher revving so the chain speed is faster, better for smaller branches. Stihl have much more torque, though. They can “lugg through” bad spots, where the Husq chain will stall.

    wow!

Fuck the whole lot of yous!

    Why kill the trees?

Great demonstration. With all that sawdust the stihl design didn’t allow any past the filter and the stihl didn’t even hiccup. For the money the Stihl just can’t be beat. Great saws.

Its a “time compression” demonstration: The Husqvarna design is such that there is less time required in maintenance than the Stihl design.

i port my ehxaust on my 441 just to be more louder :D i love noise and high reving chainsaws

Ive used the Stihl(20″ blade I believe), not the other. Great power, cant bog it down

And I cant even fathom how one would get into a situation where the saw gets such a brutal covering in the chippings.

    Interesting though.

I have both of these particular models of saws and I have to say that Stihl is by far a better cutting saw and has alot more grunt than the Husky but the only thing I like about the Husky is that they are lighter than the Stihl. Give me a Stihl any day!

personaly, we run husky saws, but we use stihl trimmers.. our oldest saw is as old as I am (30) and the only thing I had to do to it was clean and regap the points on it, and that was last summer… I find the husky saws are much quieter

  12. Paxmax September 13, 2008 7:20 am

LOL! reading all comments was funnier than the video!

To dump sawdust ontop of saws sure accelerates the test time. But for accuracy cutting with the saws in various positions would be much more true to reality.

    Exactly.
    It means exactly that.
The stihl breathes more, and allows more air to pass in, which is simply and safely filtered.
This test actually proves the opposite of what was originally intended.
    It back-fired, just like a husky would…

Although i use Bahco spanners from Sweden, I won’t use a Husky.
    Give me a stihl anyday…

On our outback farm we have Dolmar, Husky and stihl. The stihl saws are more practical.

  16. buttassboobstits September 13, 2008 7:20 am

lets be realistic under what conditions would that much saw dust be present?

  17. zackairsoft September 13, 2008 7:20 am

on the older stihl chainsaws there is a gap in the cover.

  18. PERPARSON September 13, 2008 7:20 am

no they think that air injection is miracle :D hahaha fuck air injection if other things on the husky is pure crap

  19. saxmaster35 September 13, 2008 7:20 am

So, what is the lesson to be learnt here? That the stihl breathes more than the husky?

  20. towman2277 September 13, 2008 7:20 am

The stihl sure had a mighty big gap in the cover!! Who added that?!?!?!

  21. 1RAMIRO September 13, 2008 7:20 am

i’ve ran lots of equipment for the last 15 years. the only thing i run now is stihl. I know it’s well designed and sturdy.its also light.heck they even thought about appeal.

  23. Hempel79 September 13, 2008 7:20 am

There is a difference between cutting down a tree and dumping saw dust on a chainsaw. You won’t get a ton of saw dust in a saw’s filter when you cut down or trim a tree.

  24. FU420B September 13, 2008 7:20 am

    F STHIL!
