Stihl & Husqvarna Chain Saws | Husqvarna 345 e Review

Husqvarna 345 e Review

For a homeowner the Husqvarna 345 e is a good buy as it starts easily and is big enough to fell a reasonably large tree. It will be adequate for most jobs that need a chain saw around the average garden or yard.

Starting is easy thanks to the well placed fuel pump and the decompression valve. The 3hp engine has enough power for a two foot diameter tree. This model is durable with a three piece forged crankshaft. The air injection filter is efficient and will prevent over 97% of dust and dirt from reaching the filter so it will need cleaning much less often than the average. Vibration is minimised by isolating the handles with rubber mounts and steel springs.

The Husqvarna 345 e runs smoothly and vibration is acceptable. The chain saw feels very well balanced and it is fairly light, at 10.5 pounds, in comparison to many other saws. For limb removal a shorter blade will work well and it is also very useful as a firewood saw as it deals efficiently with hardwood trunks and branches.

Safety is enhanced by the chain brake and chain catcher. Adjusting the chain is easy without needing any tools and an automatic oiler helps to keep the chain oiled. It can be fitted with bars from between thirteen and eighteen inches.

Overall an easily starting chain saw that runs smoothly and is light. Included in the price of $299 is an eighteen inch bar.

Advantages
