The Husqvarna 455 Rancher is on the heavier side at 13 lbs (without bar and chains) due in part to the large 3.4 hp engine. It is powerful and meant for heavy use on big trees. Features include easy start technology, low vibration and air injection systems.
Starting is reasonably easy although from cold it may take 3 or 4 pulls. Once started running is smooth and vibration is fairly low. It is rather heavy to use and not especially maneuverable however and therefore not really suitable for first time use of a chain saw. The tool less adjustment of the chain is easy to use and very useful. The handle is comfortable and the body has a flat bottom. A range of blade sizes are available including 18″, 20″ or 24″.
The Husqvarna 455 Rancher performs well and easily cuts through hardwood and fells large trees. For ranch owners with a lot of trees to fell or lots of firewood to cut this chain saw will easily do the job.
