Stihl owners are the most arrogand and ignorant lot of chain saw owners out there. Just look at the comments on any chain saw video or forum. You people suck.

A decent video illustrating several safe ways to start a chainsaw, and some problems to avoid. As one reviewer mentioned, your user manual is your first source of guidance.

good solid advice, yes. But that dude is wearing so much ppe he wouldn’t last 5 minutes in a full time job. Boots, trousers, helmet and a good head on your shoulders will suffice.

Good solid advice (yes, finally!) I like to use the “on the ground” start for a cold saw (big ones anyway), and the “clamp between the legs” when they’re warmed up. Good job guys.

Finally, some pros with a professional video!

Hi. The huskie “on” switch confuses me. There is an arrow pointing towards the “stop” sign. Does the arrow indicate the direction for “on” or “stop”?
I watched the video a few times and you seem to slide it in both directions.
Should I slide the switch to the left or right for “on”?
